Economics

Economics, when used effectively, can be a powerful tool in understanding the causes and effects of poverty in both the developed and developing world.

Economic theory, policies and practices are important when designing strategy and implementation methods, whose purposes are to improve the economic, political and social welfare of people living around the world.

As part of a Development Economics class at Monterey Institute of International Studies, I worked with a team of graduate students to create a 3-part economic analysis and policy recommendations to enhance to existing economic challenges in Indonesia.

Utilizing international development economic theories, United Nations Development Programme statistics, USAID Statistics, Millennium Development Goal reports, statistics from the Government of Indonesia, and other resources listed in the document, Team DUDE developed the following report, Policy Initiatives for Development in Indonesia, the final installment of a 3-part process, outlining recommendations to enhance the economic, social and environmental health of the country.
